Maybe they are in fact idiots. Allan Klepfisz might think differently, but one gets the impression that the people at Qtrax simply don’t know what they’re doing. But you never know, maybe this was all part of the plan. Announce your service with a splashy presentation in Cannes, wait for the backlash and get more media coverage than you possibly could by only launching the thing.
I assume, Klepfisz was hoping for his “imeem moment” there. Start without licences, get sued by the labels, strike deal with the labels. Well, let’s see how willing the majors will be to talk now.
